In order to support our engineering team, Airbus Aerostructures is looking for a

Stress Engineer VTP (d/f/m)

You will be part of a team of development engineers with the responsibility for new and incremental Structure development of the Vertical Tail Plane (VTP) for all programs.

Working on feasibility studies, driving and certifying the detailed design and managing structure-driven projects will be part of your job.

You will be working at the largest production site for civil aircraft situated in Hamburg. Its location on the southern banks of the river Elbe includes the option to commute by ferry. As part of this team you will

  • Rely on your experience in the domain Structure Analysis in order to take over the technical management of related projects;

  • Perform Structure Analysis feasibility studies according to validated methods;

  • Check and approve stress deliverables in line with Airbus’s processes, methods and policies;

  • Check adherence to airworthiness regulations, relevant design principles, processes, methods and manufacturing capabilities guidelines;

  • Compile and validate all required documents related to support Aircraft and Modification certification;

  • Act as interface for the department to relevant internal and external stakeholders;

  • Ensure that relevant inputs are provided and fulfill to airworthiness regulations, the Design for the creation of drawings for manufacture and provide support to other functions (i.e. R&T, customer support) as needed;

  • Perform monitoring and support of Sub-contracting firms providing structure analysis work;

  • Work on Digitalization solutions, automate and simplify, redesign processes and procedures together with the Structure Analysis community and the department.

Your boarding pass

  • You have an Engineering Degree in Aerospace, civil engineering or comparable

  • You have experience in Structure Analysis Methods including finite element method

  • Toolset experience preferred: ISAMI, FEM e.g. Altair Hyperworks, Nastran, PASS SSCI, TREND

  • Project management fundamentals would be a plus

  • You are fluent in German
